Epson MovieMate 55 Combo Projector is a Portable Home Cinema

Plasmas and LCDs might be all the rage but if you’re looking for a home theater experience that you can take with you, then check out the new Epson MovieMate 55. The MovieMate 55 is a portable projector with a built-in CD/DVD player (Progressive 480P for DVDs), as well as two built-in 8 watt 5.1 Dolby Digital DTS speakers. The MovieMate 55 weighs just 8.3 pounds - just a little more than your average laptop, yet it still manages to be able to project a 16:9 widescreen 60-inch image from only six feet away or a 120-inch image from just 12 feet away. It’s also got a built-in handle for easy portability. Plus, it’s got all the right connections - you can connect the MovieMate 55 to a PS3, Wii, Xbox 360, as well as your Mac or PC. You can also plug USB flash drives or pop in Photo CDs and the MovieMate 55 will display the pictures as photo slideshows. The MovieMate 55 will be available in October for an affordable $699, and they are even throwing in a carrying case so that you’ll be all set up for your next movie night out in the park.
